Sunday afternoon an individual claiming to be a school district employee placed a post on a facebook page called Milliken Middle School Parents and spouted multiple accusations against the School Board and School District. Accusations of misappropriation of school funds, bullying teachers, and suspending teachers for voicing their concerns, have raised parental concern levels to an all-time high within the district.
The accusations came in direct support of former football coach and popular physical education teacher Noland Eastin. Eastin last week was placed on administrative leave barring an official investigation into conduct concerning a student. On Monday Afternoon Weld RE5-J School superintendent Leslie Arnold issued a letter concerning the situation.
Dear Roosevelt High School Families:
Last week, an incident occurred in Mr. Noland Eastin’s class at Roosevelt High School (RHS) concerning the safety of a student who was medically restricted from any physical activity and had been excused from participating in P.E. The Student and a parent reported the concerns. While the District is investigating the incident, the follow up conduct of those involved and any potential violations of District policy, Mr. Eastin has been placed on administrative leave. This will allow the District the time to review and appropriately address the matters.
I want to be clear that this situation was not caused by a student or parent. I am aware that threats have been made against an RHS student. Threats towards or bullying against any RHS student (under any circumstances) will not be tolerated. Threats of violence will be reported and investigated by law enforcement, and appropriate actions taken.
In challenging times, we must resolve issues together. We need to prioritize respect, and channel our passions productively. I want to support a safe learning environment for our students and employees.
We will provide follow up communications as we are able. In the meantime, we ask for your help to ensure the safety and wellbeing of all students by talking to your child about handling adversity calmly, maturely, and with respect for others.

Weld RE-5J School District
Later this evening a change to the Board Of Education meeting Schedule was announced. Instead of going to Colorado Springs the district will hold the meeting at the Board of Education Building in the East Training Room at 6:00 P.M.
